Enough said.

Not getting in has no bearing on your worth as a writer or as a person. That door closes and gives you an opportunity to move in a new direction. "Unannounced travel plans are dancing lessons from God." Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

I'm sorry, hun. I agree with Reverend Lowell, however... this is not the end, just another oppotunity. Be strong.

MFA programs are uber-competitive, and grad schools have gotten EVEN MORE competitive in this here economy.

don't take it too personally - every program has needs and wants, and types of writers they're looking for - maybe they really wanted some poets or playwrights or experimental fiction writers this year. who knows?

i will say: try again, and cast a wider net. Apply to at least four or six programs in the fall - it increases your chances. you've got talent and skills and ability - it's just a matter of finding the right fit.

hugs to you.

Fuck them. Who needs them anyway. They're the ones that lost out! You will rock the world without them. A lot of talent goes unnoticed and unrewarded in this world. Keep finding ways to do what you love.
