Marie committed suicide last night.
Her mom called today to let me know.
Five months after being fired from her job, leaving North Carolina and returning home to live with her parents her inability to cope with any sort of 'failure' or 'rejection' drove her to take her life.
I am inconsolable. and heartbroken.
my best friend is dead. I didn't reach her in time.

I'm just so sorry. This is the last way I expected the story to end. And I feel like an ass for having no other way to express my sadness for you than through a stupid blog comment, but there it is. I'm so so sorry.
