Thank you so much for your patience while we finished up our interview process. You've achieved so much thus far, and your resume is exceptional. It was an extremely hard decision to make, but we ended up going in another direction. We greatly enjoyed meeting with you and truly wish you the best.
Sincerely,
Waxman Literary Agency.
...seriously after all this i'm sort of glad i didn't get it. Get up, brush myself off, the search still continues.

blecccchhh.
question: do you own a Suit? do you wear the Suit to interviews?
I was talking to my mom a few weeks ago, about my sister, and suddenly the idea of a Suit occurred to me.
and I wonder if that might be something worth acquiring (if you don't already have one). In this hideous job market, a suit might be a dealbreaker.
suits are awful peculiar terrible things, but you can get reasonably decent-looking separates for not a ton of money from most department stores (mine, when I had one that fit, came from Macy's and was on uber-sale because the line was being discontinued).
consider a Suit. grey, black, navy. maybe brown or camel. go conservative. pinstripe is acceptable. skirt or trousers. go classic, not with trendy ruffles or peplums or ribbons.
thus ends what tiny shred of advice i may have.
Buck up, old trout. That's a terribly nice rejection letter, far nicer than any rejection I've ever received :)
