I won't be 23 until 9;36 this morning. But who knows if I'll even be up by then. So,Happy Birthday to me.
I'm feeling sort of sad and lonely though. It is the first year i will be celebrating without my mom and for some odd reason I was mulling over the magnitude of the number 23 today. It feels insane to be a 23 year old. Like I don't know where time went or where it continues to go while I try to catch up.
I was putting some books away tonight and suddenly I started thinking "I just want to hang on to this a little while longer. I don't want everything to progress so fast". Even though it feels like it is.
Regardless of the apprehension at being another year older...Today I am 23 years old. I have made it this far without screwing my life up too badly. I think.
That's cause for a celebration.
